Sounds a bit dramatic isn’t it? Hear me out.
I joined my 2nd company in 2012 as a Lead. It was a rough initial couple of months. Business wasn't happening as expected. People have started getting doubts if I was a wrong hire.
I decided to do BD for my team. I reached out to people from my target accounts via Linkedin, and asking them to refer me to their Vendor Management team for empanelment. This happened for days. Back then I was no expert in BD, so this was my crude way of doing it.
Finally I get a message from a senior person of a large consulting company. Without hesitation, he referred me to another person who can help. Everything happened in no time. The account was onboarded and we made a good business with the client in a month’s time. It gave me a company wide visibility and people’s perception about my work changed forever.
When we started Millions Advisory in 2016, many people around us were honestly excited about our decision to have started our own venture. Some voluntarily reached us and gave us business opportunities. The initial push is mandatory for any company to sustain. After a rough couple of quarters, we finally saw light through a referral. It gave the push we required and here we are standing tough after 4.5 years.
I don’t know if it is the universe that conspires to get you closer to your dreams. But I know for a fact that your honest efforts and Goodwill earned, always does that part.
